Challenge

The constraint

Bergqvist needed a linen-cotton home textile range whose sustainability claim would survive its own internal audit and a retailer review. Previous suppliers had produced certificates after despatch, which is precisely the evidence gap that makes a claim indefensible.

Approach

What we did

We selected a low-impact dye route with OEKO-TEX approved chemistry, sourced GOTS and GRS documented fibre from audited mills, and collected transaction certificates at each stage of the chain as the material moved rather than reconstructing the file afterwards. Water use and dye-bath loading were recorded per lot, and the finished documentation pack shipped inside the consignment. Development ran four weeks and bulk production seven weeks including dyeing and finishing.

Result

What it delivered

The collection cleared the Bergqvist internal claim audit with no queries and was accepted by their retail partner on first review. The documented chain of custody has since been reused as the template for their remaining product lines, and the range has re-ordered twice.
