Materials

A fabric library, specified like a mill.

Fabric decides how a garment feels, fits, prints and survives the wash — so we publish ours in full. Every cloth Eco Vira runs is listed with composition, weight in GSM, shrinkage after wash, the colour route available and the certifications it can carry. Filter by certification or search by name, then order from 30 pieces per style per colour.

  • Combed Cotton

    140gsm

Combing removes short fibres and neps before spinning, which is why this jersey feels smoother, pills less and takes print more cleanly than carded cotton at the same weight. Advantages: breathable, hypoallergenic, dimensionally stable after compaction, and the most cost-predictable base cloth a clothing manufacturer can specify. Recommended for 160–185 gsm retail tees, 200–220 gsm heavyweight tees, piqué polos and structured tote bags. As a garment manufacturer we run it across screen, DTG and discharge printing, and it remains the default recommendation for first-time buyers building a core apparel programme.

    Composition
    100% Cotton (combed ring-spun)
    Weight
    140–220 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 5% (pre-shrunk option available)
    Colour

    OEKO-TEXGOTS

Best for: Retail t-shirts, uniforms, tote bags and everyday fashion tops

  • Organic Cotton

    140gsm

Grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers and processed through a certified low-impact dye route, with transaction certificates that let your claim survive an audit. Advantages: chain-of-custody documentation supplied with every order, restricted-substance compliance for skin-contact and infant categories, and a softer, less chemically loaded hand than conventional cotton. Recommended for organic tees, babywear and kidswear bodysuits, sleepwear and slow-fashion capsules. This is the fibre most buyers start with when they want a sustainable clothing manufacturer rather than an unverified green claim.

    Composition
    100% GOTS Organic Cotton
    Weight
    140–200 gsm
    Shrinkage

  • French Terry

    240gsm

A loop-back knit with a flat, print-ready face and an unbrushed looped reverse, which gives it the structure of a sweat without the bulk or heat of fleece. Advantages: excellent drape and recovery, year-round wearability, minimal pilling, and a surface stable enough to carry puff, high-density and embroidery placements without distortion. Recommended for 280–320 gsm heavyweight hoodies, crewneck sweatshirts, joggers, shorts and oversized streetwear silhouettes. As an apparel manufacturer we garment-wash French terry on request to lock in a softer, pre-relaxed hand before despatch.

    Composition
    80% Cotton / 20% Polyester
    Weight
    240–320 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 6%
    Colour

    OEKO-TEX

Best for: Streetwear hoodies, premium sweats and loungewear sets

  • Anti-Pill Fleece

    180gsm

Brushed on one or both faces and then anti-pill finished, so the surface stays clean through repeated laundering instead of fuzzing after a season. Advantages: high warmth-to-weight ratio, fast drying, near-zero shrinkage, and a GRS-certified recycled variant with full chain of custody. Recommended for zip and quarter-zip mid-layers, polar fleece jackets, workwear liners and hoodie interiors. A dependable choice for uniform manufacturer programmes in cold-climate markets where garments must survive industrial wash cycles.

    Composition
    100% Polyester (recycled option)
    Weight
    180–300 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 3%

    GRSOEKO-TEX

Best for: Outerwear mid-layers, workwear liners and team sportswear

  • Performance Polyester

    120gsm

Engineered knit with capillary channels that move perspiration to the surface for evaporation rather than holding it against the skin. Advantages: rapid drying, high colourfastness, shape retention through heavy use, and a sublimation-ready white base that carries edge-to-edge, seam-to-seam graphics with no hand-feel. Recommended for training tees, football and cricket kits, cycling jerseys and gym singlets. Because sublimation prints the dye into the fibre, teamwear built on this base will not crack or peel — a material advantage for any bulk clothing manufacturer order shipping into competitive sport.

    Composition
    100% Polyester (moisture-wicking)
    Weight
    120–180 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 3%
    Colour

    OEKO-TEX

Best for: Activewear, sublimated teamwear and club kits

  • Recycled Polyester (rPET)

    120gsm

Spun from post-consumer PET flake and certified to the Global Recycled Standard, so recycled percentage is verified at every processing step rather than asserted on a swing tag. Advantages: performance identical to virgin polyester, lower embodied energy, transaction certificates issued per shipment, and eligibility for retailer sustainability scorecards. Recommended for recycled activewear, performance tees, lightweight shells, linings and accessory panels. This is the core fibre behind most sustainable clothing manufacturer programmes we run for European and North American buyers.

    Composition
    100% GRS Recycled Polyester
    Weight
    120–200 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 3%

Best for: Recycled activewear, shells and eco-conscious capsules

  • Linen Blend

    130gsm

Flax fibre blended with cotton to keep linen’s dry, cool handle while softening the creasing and improving dimensional stability. Advantages: exceptional breathability and moisture release, a naturally textured slub surface, strength that improves with washing, and a premium drape that photographs well for e-commerce. Recommended for camp-collar and long-sleeve shirts, resort dresses, unstructured overshirts, drawstring trousers and hospitality uniforms. We offer an enzyme-washed finish that delivers a pre-relaxed hand straight out of the polybag.

    Composition
    55% Linen / 45% Cotton
    Weight
    130–180 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 4% (washed finish available)

    OEKO-TEX

Best for: Resortwear, summer shirting and hospitality uniforms

  • Modal

    120gsm

A regenerated cellulosic spun from beech pulp in a closed-loop process, giving a fluid, silk-adjacent hand that conventional cotton cannot reach at the same weight. Advantages: outstanding colour retention wash after wash, roughly 50% more absorbent than cotton, resistant to shrinkage and hard-water mineral build-up, and cool against the skin. Recommended for premium basic tees, briefs and bralettes, camisoles, sleep sets and elevated loungewear. Frequently blended with cotton or elastane where a custom clothing manufacturer needs both softness and recovery.

    Composition
    100% Modal (beech cellulose)
    Weight
    120–160 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 4%

Best for: Premium basics, underwear and elevated loungewear

  • Viscose

    110gsm

A fluid cellulosic woven or knit that falls close to the body and holds saturated colour, which is why fashion buyers reach for it when silhouette matters more than structure. Advantages: superior drape, high dye uptake for deep and print-heavy palettes, breathable in hot climates, and an economical alternative to silk. Recommended for midi and wrap dresses, blouses, kaftans, wide-leg trousers and jacket linings. As a textile manufacturer we recommend pre-shrunk viscose and generous grading for woven fashion so fit holds after first wash.

    Composition
    100% Viscose (rayon)
    Weight
    110–150 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 5%

    OEKO-TEX

Best for: Woven fashion dresses, blouses and jacket linings

  • Bamboo Viscose

    130gsm

Bamboo pulp regenerated into a fine, round-cross-section fibre that reads noticeably cooler and smoother than cotton jersey of equal weight. Advantages: strong moisture management, natural thermoregulation, a low-friction surface suited to sensitive skin, and OEKO-TEX tested chemical safety on every lot. Recommended for underwear and base layers, babywear, bed and lounge sets, yoga tops and travel apparel. Best blended with 5% elastane where recovery is needed, since pure bamboo viscose relaxes with wear.

    Composition
    100% Bamboo Viscose
    Weight
    130–170 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 5%
    Colour
    Dyed to order
    OEKO-TEX

Best for: Underwear, babywear and soft-handle base layers

  • Spandex Blend (Stretch)

    180gsm

Four-way stretch knit with engineered recovery, so the garment returns to shape rather than bagging at the knee and seat after a few sessions. Advantages: high elongation with controlled compression, squat-proof opacity at 200 gsm and above, chlorine and perspiration resistance, and flat-lock or bonded seam compatibility for chafe-free wear. Recommended for leggings, cycling shorts, sports bras, compression base layers and fitted training tops. We wash-test every stretch development for opacity and recovery before bulk is released.

    Composition
    92% Poly / 8% Elastane
    Weight
    180–240 gsm
    Shrinkage
    < 3%
    Colour
    Dyed to order
    OEKO-TEX

Best for: Leggings, compression wear and fitted training apparel
